Why Storehouse?

Why Storehouse?

For many years, I’ve been captivated by King David’s cry to “build the Lord a house”. And all last year, it became my prayer & heart cry nearly every day, “Lord let me build you a house.” STOREHOUSE is just a piece to that answered prayer & promise.

David desired to give God a resting place in the earth, & Samuel the prophet, the human vessel as a voice for God at the time, said to go & do all that was within his heart, for it was a good desire!
But the Lord responded, “ YOU want to build ME a house? I’ve never lived in a house before.”

THAT. MOVED. ME.

That God, who had a dwelling place in all creation, would desire to give that up to live in a place made by human hands so He could be close to them. His original desire only partly fulfilled, & totally flawed because of man’s imperfection to perfectly welcome & behold the presence of God.
He then gave David blueprints to prepare to build Him a dwelling place, a temple, and to generationally commission his own son Solomon to actually build & complete the temple. God also promised the coming Savior Jesus through His bloodline as a response to Him wanting to build God a home.  (Because God thinks in legacy!! He showed this through gifting the honor of building the temple to his successor & the next king, AND he prophesied the end of a need for a physical building & sacrifices to meet with God through Jesus!!!!! Which is INSANELY WILD.) But not only would he start the preparations for it with physical materials, He started training & recruiting THOUSANDS of creatives to design, decorate, prepare, & glorify the Lord in building the temple. 1 Chronicles chapters 22-29 share that David gathered thousands of musicians, iron workers, tapestry workers, skilled arts men, gatekeepers & hundreds were posted at the doors to praise the Lord. Literally a generation brought in to a vision to build God also resting place.

When Jesus came, it was evident that He was the Temple, the resting place, the home of God, sent to all of man kind. The “temple” of God was destroyed on the cross, as the ultimate sacrifice. The man, the Son of God, who had done nothing wrong, gave His life so not only did God not have to dwell in a physical building made by human hands anymore; nor did man have to earn the favor or presence of God ever again. No. When He gave His life, it signed the move in papers for YOU & for ME to be a home for God through His Holy Spirit. Not just be saved; not just to escape hell. But to have a face to face relationship with the God of universe that has the whole solar system to dwell in, & He choose YOUR heart as His favorite place.

I’m believing that the call to build the house of God is happening again. He’s giving us blue prints out of our desires to give Him a home, and commissioning a generation of creatives to invite the harvest into the storehouse. For individuals to come together, and use their gifts & callings to welcome the lost ones home. Where God is desiring to live in human hearts as His resting place, & is in Him.
He’s doing it in living rooms, schools, the market place, social media, art studios, offices, the nations & more. In you, in me. This is just the beginning.

Thank you for coming 🤍

Let’s build the Lord a house the harvest can come home to 🌎
